Dutch Ministry Chooses Flower Turbines for Sustainability Award

Dutch Ministry Chooses Flower Turbines for Sustainability Award

Flower Turbines’ off-grid charging solution for small e-mobility has been chosen for the second time as the main award in the EZK sustainability awards for Dutch municipalities.

Leiderdorp has won the prestigious Dutch EZK Energy Award 2021 for most sustainable municipality of the Netherlands. The yearly event is created by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate to reward companies and municipalities that actively support the energy transition in innovative ways. As a reward, Leiderdorp will receive Flower Turbines’ Sun & Wind charging pole to be placed in the city and have electric bikes and scooters charged with solar and wind energy.

Councilman for Leiderdorp Rik van Woudenberg received the award from the EZK jury. The city succeeds the previous winner Oostzaan, which received our Sun & Wind charging pole in 2019.

Our Sun & Wind charging pole is a completely off-grid solution that can charge your electric bike, scooter or small device anywhere and anytime. The pole is equipped with a small wind turbine and two solar panels and is available in your branding colors.

Unveiling of sun & wind charging pole in Oostzaan

In honor of the EZK Energy Award 2019 of Dutch municipalities, awarded just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our sun & wind e-bike charging pole was unveiled this week in the Dutch municipality of Oostzaan.

The municipality has earned the award because of its leading role in innovative sustainability solutions and the energy transition of municipalities throughout the Netherlands, in which our charging solution played a great role.

Representatives and councilors of the award committee and the municipality unveiled the off-grid charging solution in a festive event. Our charging pole made a great impression on the present sustainability officials and the turbine was spinning beautifully in the strong wind.
